Itinerary

Namaste and welcome to Nepal.

After breakfast, the guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you by private transport to the starting point of the trekking: Sundarijal. This is where the trekking starts: today we ascend almost all the time. First we climb through Shivapuri National Park to Mulkharka, a typical Tamang village. The path leads us further through forests of rhododendrons and oaks. Along the way we have a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains of the Himalayas.

Overnight stay in a teahouse in Chisapani

In Chisapani you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise over the mountains of the Helambu region. Today you will walk through the jungle of the Shivapuri National Park. It is great hiking in the green!
Besides the beautiful views of the Himalayas along the way, in Nagarkot you can see - when the weather is clear - five of the ten highest peaks in the world: the Everest, the Lhotse, the Choyu, the Makalu and the Manaslu. Did you know that Nagarkot is the best place around Kathmandu to have a beautiful view of the Himalayas and to enjoy a beautiful sunrise or sunset?

Stay overnight in a standard hotel in Nagarkot.

The path first climbs up to the watchtower of Nagarkot. From this tower you have - in clear weather - a fantastic view of the Himalayas and the whole Kathmandu Valley. This is really enjoyable!

Afterwards the path leads you through picturesque villages and green forests. On a clear day, you can admire the eastern side of the Himalayas today.

Overnight stay in a standard boutique hotel in Dhulikhel

We continue to Namobuddha, a beautiful and quiet village, where a famous Buddhist monastery is located. The monastery is beautifully situated, surrounded by nature. Here you can meet monks, talk to them and be present at their prayer rituals.

Overnight stay in a small cottage of an eco-resort.

Today we continue our way to Balthali. We walk between terraced fields and orchards full of oranges. We pass several villages, where we get to know the daily life of the people again. In Balthali itself you can visit some temples and you have a fantastic view on the surrounding hills. When the weather is clear, you can also see some of the highest mountains of the Himalayas from here.

Overnight stay in a standard hotel in Balthali.

The end of your journey has come. You descend and walk through the fields on a flat stretch to Panauti, a typical Newari village. In Panauti you can visit the Indreshwor Mahadev Temple, a temple in honour of the God Shiva, and some other Hindu temples. Panauti is known for its Newari culture and traditions.

After the visit to Panauti we drive back to Kathmandu by private car.
