Family Adventure in Nepal

15 Days

During this active family adventure in Nepal you will get acquainted with nature and culture. But especially also with the local population of Nepal.

Under the watchful eye of a monkey colony you will walk to the temple complex of Swayambunath. You will see stone cutters and metal smiths at work in the royal city of Patan. In the largest open air market of Kathmandu, Asan you can enjoy the many smells and colors.

Furthermore you will visit the ritual cremation place of Pashupatinath with its colorful saddhus. Then you will stay in a homestay in the countryside in Pathleket. You will get acquainted with the daily life of a peasant family and you will be allowed to help on the farm.

The next day you wander around in the small alleys of the medieval potters town of Bhaktapur. If you like you can also try spinning a pot here! The journey continues in the direction of Bandipur. In this picturesque Bandipur hangs a cozy medieval atmosphere and on a clear day you have a fantastic panoramic view of the Himalayas.

Your family adventure in Nepal continues to Pokhara where you will meet Buddhist monks and stay in a monastery overlooking the Himalayas. This is located within walking distance of a Tibetan refugee camp. In this refugee camp you can learn to make delicious momo’s! Did you know that the delicious momo’s originate from Tibet?
During this family trip in Nepal you will also spend three days in the mountains, at the foot of the Annapurna chain. Here you will enjoy nice interactions with the local mountain people while hiking. You will also enjoy beautiful views of the snowy peaks. After the trekking you have a day off in Pokhara, where you can visit some natural wonders. Or take a boat on Lake Phewa to go hiking to the World Peace Pagoda on the other side of the lake.

There is even more natural beauty in the Chitwan National Park. You will stay in a lodge with your own elephants: super fun to observe them. You also go into the park with a guide in search of wild animals. Afterwards you will spend the night in a cottage in the middle of a Tharu village. The Tharu women like to involve you in their daily life.

Finally, your family trip through Nepal ends in the Buddhist heart of Kathmandu, Boudhanath, where you will stay near the beautiful white stupa. Walk around the stupa together with the pilgrims and enjoy the special atmosphere here.
